“ After our walk along the beach where we have seen seals we enjoyed lunch at this nice taverne. I recommend the burgers and halloumi salad. ”
“ We arrived around 5:00pm for dinner. We were greeted by two lovely staff who where very friendly and helpful. We ordered calamari, shanks and the beef burger. The food was excellent, chips were fat and hot and there was plenty of it. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and have no issues recommending this pub. ”
“ Delicious hot meal here on a wintry West Coast evening. Plenty of locals in when we arrived, fire roaring in the bar area and lovely atmosphere. The lamb shank was so good! Falling off the bone and very generous. Recommend. ”
“ Decided to do a late afternoon visit and as I’m a pate shop I was so happy to see chicken and brandy pate on their menu. It was absolutely delicious and probably some of the best I’ve ever had so we will definitely be back for more. Highly recommend ”
“ What a classic friendly West Coast welcome we had. Amanda was amazing. This is hospitality at it's best. All our meals were delicious, served on time and served with such kindness. Amanda opened up the facility especially for us to watch the All Blacks. We were blown away by how well we were treated. We parked our campers overnight there. The adjoining coastal recreation area is very nicely kept. A must visit destination. ”
“ What a unique dining experience in the Westport area. The seafood chowder was unique in that it had a leek and onion base. The broiled Snapper was a hit, along with the burger with many toppings. Amanda was running the show tonight with a single staff to assist. We had given up on evening dining in Westport, but we found a wonderful meal here at the Star Tavern. Enjoy. ”
“ We ate dinner here two nights in a row and it was delicious, fresh, flavorful, and friendly. What a lovely spot! And really cool people! Everything we ate was top notch: chicken thighs with apple, rosemary chicken breast, lamb shank, salmon, all of it tender and carefully presented. And good beers and deserts, too. Highly recommended! ”
